This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit or use the Counterpunch website.

Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the website and your account:

  • Email address — used to create an account and send passwordless login links
  • Account and subscription records (plan, billing period, credit balance, Stripe identifiers). Payment card details are handled by Stripe, not stored on our servers
  • Cloud font membership: which fonts you own or were invited to, and the role (owner, editor, viewer). The live font itself is handled in the Font Editor; see that app’s privacy policy
  • Anonymous usage statistics via Plausible Analytics (no cookies, no personal data)
  • Page views and navigation patterns (aggregated)
  • Referral sources and marketing campaign parameters (anonymized)

Analytics and Tracking

We use Plausible Analytics on this website to understand visitor trends. Plausible:

  • Does not use cookies — no cookie consent banner is required
  • Does not collect personal data — no email addresses, IP addresses, or unique user identifiers
  • Does not track across websites — only measures activity on this site
  • Collects aggregated data only — page views, referrers, and general location (country level)
  • Is GDPR-oriented — data is anonymized and aggregated

Marketing parameters (such as UTM tags from advertising campaigns) are captured temporarily to measure campaign effectiveness, then removed from the address bar and stored only for the session without personal identification.

Accounts, invitations, and cloud membership

Signing in on this website creates an account we use across Counterpunch products. Invitation pages record who was invited to a cloud font and with which role. We do not receive your local font files through this website. Saving a font to Cloud, live editing, and unsent edits in the browser happen in the Font Editor and are described in the editor privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used to:

  • Run the website and your account (login, subscription, invitations)
  • Understand aggregated visitor trends
  • Improve the website

Data Storage and Security

Website and account data are hosted with Cloudflare. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

Third-Party Services

This website uses:

  • Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly web analytics (cookie-free). Data is processed in the EU.
  • Resend — sends magic-link login emails. We share only your email address for that purpose.
  • Stripe — processes subscription payments. See Stripe’s privacy policy for payment data.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

We do not share your personal information with other third parties except as needed to run these services.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in on this website. It expires after 30 days and contains only an encrypted session identifier. We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.
